As I write this review I have to say I haven't finished this book yet. This is a first for me, to write a review without having read the book all the way, but there isn't any need for me to finish reading before saying that Scott Hildreth is THE MAN! Holy crap, how he writes he pulls you in with his words, his style of writing and I'm leaning towards believing some of the stories that are shared are actual events. This is a book about Otis, one of the Selective Sinners MC. So far Otis is having some issues with his lonely heart, he is one of the few single bikers, single meaning he doesn't have an old lady to be with or a wife as some of the others do. Otis just saw his love from 15 years ago come walking into the bar. Thats as far as I'm at right now. Anyone who has a sense of humor, loves Harleys, or riding motorcycles is missing out if they don't partake in Scotts books. They are gritty, down to earth, funny as heck, loving and very very special in every single one of them. In each one I've read I've laughed, cried and been pissed off as hell that one of the bikers wasn't doing the right thing. Talk about being dragged into the scene... omg. I will do without food, making a mortgage payment or anything else to be sure I can continue buying Scott's books. I think I'm not only in love with every single man in every single book I've read so far, I think I might be in love with the author as well..lol Yes, he's married, 6 kids to boot. What a lucky woman his wife is and how wonderful that his children have Scott for a father. Its got to be a laugh a minute with him. Don't miss out on any books by Scott Hildreth.Product details

Otis has always been in live with one woman only and when she moves away and gets married he doesnt let women get to close to him. 15 years go by and Sam returns for her mother's funeral. She is all alone in the world after her husband's death on 9-11 she moves from nyc to stl .so now she is back and always loved Otis but she doesn't know anything about him anymore. So when she stops off at a bar for drink to calm her she sees bikes out front and she walks in and sees the men sitting at a table it's when Otis turns around he gets the shock of his life .it's Sam the love of his life. He goes to her and she goes right in his arms. They are so explosive together and they are inseparable but when something happens unexpected will it destroy their relationship ?

I really struggled here because I like the series and wanted to give it more stars. However the deeper I get into these books the more I am experiencing this filler type of thing that HIldreth does within the stories. He weaves in scenarios from different books for pages and pages and pretty much verbatim so much so in this story I went back and forth in confusion about five times thinking I had already read the book. I think it was an early bar scene and then about 4 pages of Biskett relating the exact same story as in his own book. It did nothing to drive the story forward and actually made me feel cheated and frustrated. It is too bad too because I do really like his characterizations. Also too much information vs. dialogue. The balance is just not there.
I have read 4 of these Selected Sinners books and this one was probably my least favorite. I think the fact that I read Hung first might have influenced my feelings a bit (it was so funny and caught my attention right away) since this one had so much that was also written in Hung..so it was like scenes were repeated in books 3 and 4 which confused me (I kept thinking I had read this one already when in fact it was new).
Otis and Sam's story was good but not really too gripping or anything that I would find different. The first two books were really WOW to me and so I was expecting the same caliber of writing here as well. I also didn't care for the recounting of the events in Waco...I think a fictional story with a biker romance should not include real life events and the use of the actual MC names either. This is just my personal opinion but knowing bikers in my real life, I think they would agree with me.
In any case, the fact that Otis had a great family life (both in his club and outside with his own mom and dad) and Sam was falling apart after her mom passed away,(and never quite got over Otis) made for some touching drama and on the whole I liked this addition to the series, just not my favorite.
